WATCH: Asmongold HUMILATED Apex Legends Aerith skin in the Final Fantasy 7 crossover event

Electronic Arts recently partnered with Square Enix to release the Apex LegendsFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover event. Unfortunately for the two companies, the event was not as successful as they had hoped.

The event has been surrounded by controversy since its announcement. Things have not gotten any better after Asmongold criticized the event’s skins.

The event’s special cosmetics have been a huge point of contention. EA is getting a lot of backlash from fans for their overpriced skin and a $360 skin for a death box. While Apex Legends has always faced allegations of overpricing their cosmetics, they were still highly aesthetic and wonderfully designed.

This is not the case with the recent event. One such skin is the Aerith-inspired skin for the legend Horizon. On a recent stream, Asmondgold was scrolling through his subreddit, checking out various fan memes.

Asmongold blasts Apex Legends for their Final Fantasy Aerith skin

Asmongold has been a long-time player of the game and partakes in most events. The Twitch streamer made his disapproval very clear.

He started by mentioning that he hadn’t played the game in a long while but could not believe how bad the skin looked. Asmongold further expressed his disbelief about how such an item was approved in the first place.

Asmongold called the skin “f*cking ridiculous.” He could not believe how someone would think such a skin was a good idea. Furthermore, he called it the “d*mbest f*cking sh*t” he had seen in his entire life.

People in the audience pointed out that it was not supposed to be Aerith herself. Instead, it was a skin for the legend Horizon inspired by Aerith’s looks.

I am going to be honest, this looks f*cking ridiculous. I don't know who the f*ck thought it would be a good idea. It's the dumbest f*cking sh*t I have ever seen in my life. Did Square Enix see this? See what it was supposed like?

Asmongold read these messages but replied by saying he did not care. He still said that the skin looked like a “crackhead from Walmart.”

Alongside agreeing with the terrible look, fans also complained about the skin’s price, which is over $30 to obtain.
