Trump challenges Biden to 'no holds barred' second debate: 'Anytime, anywhere, anyplace'

Former President Donald Trump issued a challenge Thursday to President Joe Biden for a second presidential debate.

The first debate ended in disaster for Biden. He appeared unable to finish sentences or complete thoughts at several points during the debate. His performance sparked a firestorm amid Democratic circles and led to speculation the 81-year-old could be replaced as the party's nominee.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump offered a second “no holds barred” debate in which the two would not be constrained by moderators.

I have the answer to the Crooked Joe Biden Incompetence Puzzle — Let’s do another Debate, but this time, no holds barred,” Trump wrote. “An all on discussion, with just the two of us on stage, talking about the future of our Country.

“Let Joe explain why he wants Open Borders, with millions of people, and many violent criminals from parts unknown, pouring into our once great Nation, or why he wants Men Playing in Women’s Sports, or demand ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES within five years, or why he allowed INFLATION TO RUN RAMPANT, destroying the people of our Country, and so much more,” Trump added.

The opportunity, Trump said, would allow Biden the chance to prove his competency.

“What a great evening it would be, just the two of us, one on one, in a good, old fashioned Debate, the way they used to be,” he concluded. “ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!!!”

Trump’s challenge follows aNew York Times report earlier this week that Biden told a key ally he is considering dropping out of the presidential race. White House spokesperson Andrew Bates refuted the report, calling it "absolutely false."

If the New York Times had provided us with more than 7 minutes to comment we would have told them so," Bates added.

Betting website Polymarket this week listed the odds of Biden dropping out of the race as exceeding 80%. This figure had been less than 20% prior to the first presidential debate.
